Romance Valley Farm has a diverse ecological setting with forests, wetlands, valleys, benches, a natural spring, 90`x175` pond and 1.4 mile of the North Fork of the Bad Axe River which bisects the farm. We have created a Managed Forest Law Plan (2005-2030) on 141 of our 328 acre farm which will manage our ash, basswood, birch, cherry, elm, hackberry, shagbark hickory, oak (black, burr, red, white) and walnut plantings for sawlog and veneer quality lumber. This plan which was established in 2005 and runs to 2030; helps to lower the taxes; $7292 last year. If the conditions are right this Spring, we have had days of finding over 18 pounds of morel mushrooms! The easily accessible benches overlooking the trout stream offer amazing private potential building sites for many homes as well as the potential for an air field to be built along the level flat area that borders the stream. Extensive ATV trails offer access to hiking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, equestrian, biking, running and motorcycling.
